Journalist Gianluigi Longari of Sport Italia TV has shared his own Tottenham Hotspur transfer update on their links to Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo.

The Lowdown: Spurs eye move…

A flurry of reports from the last few days have linked Spurs with a move for Jose Mourinho’s gem as the north Londoners seek to push on from their Champions League qualification last season.

Having sealed a place in the Premier League top four, subsequent investment has followed in this summer transfer market as sporting director Fabio Paratici seals the signings of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence.

If recent claims are anything to go by, the Lilywhites aren’t done there and are in the market for Zaniolo – with Longari sharing what he knows on the situation.

The Latest: Longari shares Zaniolo update…

Indeed, taking to social media, the Italian reporter has shared his own information on Spurs’ links to one of Serie A’s most exciting talents.

There has apparently been in contact in the form of an ‘enquiry’, but as per Longari, little in the way of an official bid or talks.

The Verdict: Push for deal?

Some reports have suggested that Zaniolo could cost as much as €70m (£60m) to prise away from the Stadio Olimpico, and while this could vary of differ depending on developments, we believe such a price tag would justified for a player of his ilk.

As per WhoScored, the 23-year-old finished last season as one of Roma’s most threatening assets – completing more successful take-ons and attracting more fouls than any of his teammates.

Former Liverpool midfielder Moussa Sissoko is certainly an admirer, calling Zaniolo ‘excellent’ recently and a big talent, leaving little wonder there has been Spurs movement over the starlet.
